The relationship between health and productivity is that a person's health can determine their productivity in the workplace. If a person is healthy, they are more likely to be able to work at a faster pace and carry out duties easier than a person who is unhealthy or often sick. Also, the rate at which a person is absent from work due to sickness is low when employees are living a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, being healthy improves productivity.

As healthcare expenditures increase, health outcomes such as infant mortality rates and life expectancy improve. If there is not enough spending on healthcare, it could affect these health outcomes by increasing their overall rates. This is why there is a relationship between health and health expenditure.
